Originating from Japan and Korea it is known as 'yatsude' meaning 'eight fingers'. They prefer a cool and dappled shade, so will enjoy a darker corner with indirect light. This variegated variety tends to grow slower and more compact compared to the original variety, but can be easily restricted with an annual prune.
