Calathea Stromanthe Triostar | 14CM Pot
Part of the Prayer Plant family, the Calathea 'Triostar' is also known as Stromanthe Sanguinea Triostar or Calathea sanguinea plant.
A native to the jungles of the Amazon region in South America, she is a stunning plant with variegated leaves in a spectrum of shades of pink, green and white. She also responds to night and day by opening and closing her leaves, making a relaxing evening and morning ritual.
Ideal location: Bathrooms, kitchens, living rooms, bedrooms and studies
Light conditions: Bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight as this can fade the plant’s beautiful colouring, it can also burn the leaves. Plenty of indirect sunlight will encourage greater variegation on the leaves.
Watering: Allow the top of the soil to dry out before watering again but avoid the soil drying out completely. In the winter months do not allow the plant to fully dry out but do reduce the frequency of watering.
Neediness: Mist regularly to maintain high humidity levels. If humidity is too low the leaves may brown at the edges. Wipe leaves with a damp cloth to remove dust to help the plant breath. Turning the plant around from time to time will stimulate growth.
