Alocasia Silver Dragon | 14CM Pot
Native to Borneo the alocasia silver dragon is a variety of alocasia baginda. He is a dwarf species that when grown indoors reaches only around 35cm so ideal if you have that perfect spot for him that he won't outgrow. One of our rarer plants his striking beauty is very sought after.
His leaves grow on long, upright, pink stalks, a compact leaf rosette. His velvety leaves have the shape of an elongated heart which has an unusual texture like dragon scales. The emerald green colour of the leaves has a silvery sheen which is beautifully contrasted by the dark green colour of the veins.
Ideal location: Likes high humidity so bathroom & kitchen.
Light conditions: Bright, indirect, filtered light. Avoid allowing this plant to sit in direct sunlight—the leaves may burn. Rotate the pot once a week so that all the leaves get enough light
Watering: Wait until the top 1-2 inches of soil is dry to touch before watering. Like the soil moist but not soggy.
Neediness: Low maintenance despite its exotic appearance. Wipe the leaves regularly with a damp cloth to remove dust but also provide extra moisture. A pebble tray is recommended to increase humidity. Misting is not recommended.
Pets & Children: Toxic if eaten. Keep away from children and animals.
Rate of growth: Slow growing!
